SIP (Session Initiated Protocol) is a way to bypass the current providers old copper infrastructure and complex billing procedures. SIP and VoIP are basically the same service, but the SIP term is used with trunking. Trunking is considered more than one line or call path.
A SIP Trunk can replace any number of traditional products such as T-1’s, PRI’s, and 1-XXX analog roll over numbers. It can be used by a doctor’s office or a call center. Services can be up and running in 24 hours and not 60 days.

If you have a traditional PBX we can set up a preconfigured Internet Access Device (IAD) to place between your old phone system and your internet connection. This device converts the SIP signal to TDM so you can continue using your old phone system.

In general, phone service via SIP costs less than equivalent service from traditional sources. This is largely a function of traditional phone services either being monopolies or government entities. There are also some cost savings due to using a single network to carry voice and data. This is especially true when users have existing under-utilized network capacity that they can use for SIP without any additional costs. A SIP Call using G711 signaling requires 100 kbs of bandwidth. If you have 10 SIP Trunks, you will need 1mb of bandwidth

Increased functionality with new features that are difficult to impossible with traditional phone networks.

  • Incoming phone calls are automatically routed to your VOIP phone whereever you plug it into a broadband network. Take your VOIP phone with you on a trip, and anywhere you connect it to the Internet, you can receive your incoming calls.
  • Call center agents using VOIP phones can easily work from anywhere with a good internet connection.
  • Local number portability now allows you to take your phone number across the city or country.
